Japan-World Bank Partnership Program for Universal Health Coverage

Global Conference on Universal Health Coverage for Inclusive and Sustainable Growth
December 5–6, 2013 Tokyo, Japan

The World Bank and the Government of Japan organized a major conference with JCIE in Tokyo on December 5–6, convening close to 200 health ministers and high-level representatives from around the world. Discussions were based on a set of case studies of Japan and other countries' experience with universal health coverage. With a one-day roundtable followed by a high-level forum with policymakers, participants shared lessons from Japan and other countries' health systems and examined the financial and human resources aspects of universal health coverage.
