Award Honors Lifelong Work of JCIE President
On October 14, 2011, friends and colleagues of Tadashi Yamamoto gathered to celebrate the prestigious award he received earlier this year, on July 5. On that occasion, Their Excellencies the Emperor and Empress of Japan bestowed the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, on JCIE President Tadashi Yamamoto. The highest award that the Japanese government bestows on civilians, the honor was made in recognition of his dedicated efforts over more than 40 years to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between Japan and other countries around the world through nonprofit, nongovernmental intellectual exchange and policy research. Tadashi and JCIE would like to take this opportunity to thank our many friends and partners around the world. These accomplishments could not have happened without your support and dedication to a true exchange of ideas across countries and sectors.
