APAPAsia Pacific Agenda Project

Third Forum: Yokohama, Japan
December 16-17, 1997

The third APAP forum was held in Yokohama, Japan, on December 16-17, 1997. Approximately 45 participants from 11 countries throughout the Asia Pacific region gathered for the meeting.

The meeting featured a session on the theme of "Values, Governance, and International Relations," which examined the implications for international relations of economic growth, changing values, and domestic politics in Asian countries. The forum also addressed the topic of Japan's identity in a changing Asian context, and the research and dialogue agenda that APAP should pursue in the future. A conference report was published in English in 2000.
