UK-Japan 21st Century Group
On February 6–8, 2004, the 20th conference was held in Brocket Hall, UK, under the joint chairmanship of Yasuhisa Shiozaki (member, House of Representatives and former parliamentary vice-minister for finance) and Rt. Hon. Peter Mandelson MP (member, House of Commons). Participants shared views on the future direction of bilateral cooperation, political governance, challenges of corporate social responsibility, global governance, and prospects for environmental sustainability. Prior to the conference, the delegation paid courtesy calls on Prime Minister Tony Blair, Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott, and Rt Hon Hilary Benn MP, Secretary of State for International Development.
